    Morgan Stanley opens for business at 2 Wall Street, New York City, on September 16, 1935.

  2. Morgan Stanley Offers Equity Administration

    Morgan Stanley begins to offer equity solutions to companies and their employees.

  3. Morgan Stanley Begins Collaboration with Solium Capital

    At the time, Solium, a leading share plan administration software, serves clients in more than 100 countries with the Shareworks platform.

  4. Morgan Stanley Makes a Big Move on Wealth Management

    Morgan Stanley acquires a majority stake in Citi’s Smith Barney (and a full stake in 2013) and expands its retail brokerage operation to create one of the world’s largest wealth management franchises. 

  5. Morgan Stanley Acquires Solium, Forms Morgan Stanley at Work

    United under the new Morgan Stanley at Work name, the team offers leading-edge workplace financial benefits, including equity management, financial wellness and retirement solutions.

  1. Morgan Stanley Acquires E*TRADE

    The Morgan Stanley at Work offering expands substantially to include E*TRADE Corporate Services and education assistance solutions provider, Gradifi Solutions. In addition, the acquisition gives participants access to E*TRADE's powerful, self-directed investment platform.

  2. Morgan Stanley at Work Acquires American Financial Systems (AFS)

    The acquisition of AFS, a recognized leader in Nonqualified Deferred Compensation solutions, broadens the firm’s executive-focused and retirement capabilities.
